Ingredients:
Directions:
1. Preheat the Oven to 350 F.
2. Mix the dry ingredients in a medium-sized bowl.
3. Repeat with the wet ingredients in a larger sized bowl.
5. Slowly pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients bowl. Mix well.
6. Grease pan (s) and place in preheated oven for fifty to sixty minutes, or until the toothpick comes out cleanish. (No batter, just moist crumbs.)
7. Allow it to cool before using a knife to cut around the edges of the bread and turning it out onto a cutting board.
8. Serve warm or cooled with butter.
Yield: 1 loaf plus a little more. (usually, we double recipe to make 3 loafs)
- 1 Stick Butter or Margarine (softened)
- 1 ½ cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tbsp. lemon juice
- ¾ cup butter milk or plain milk
- 1 cup mashed banana (I usually put more in)
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- ½ tsp. baking powder
